DAY 5 Zero Waste Challenge: Reduce Fast Food

Fast food is a convenience for us now days , we're often in a hurry and we never seem to have enough time for ourselves. So, when we are hungry, we usually throw some fries in a pan together with some frozen fish fingers, or just stop by at a fast food restaurant. All this to win some time, which ironically never seem to have enough of anyway. A fast paced lifestyle pushing you constantly towards the faster, unhealthy meals can come with many unwanted consequences.

Heading towards a healthier lifestyle will help you gain back the lack of energy or disrupt the sleepy feeling that hunts you for days in a row. Unfortunately, as good as junk food tastes, it produces so much packaging! And most of the food that we eat there is frozen and full of ingredients we don't know about. This challenge can be more than beneficial to you and your family.

Cooking healthy doesn't necessarily mean that you have to spend hours in the kitchen. In fact, there are plenty of healthy recipes that can be made in just a few minutes. For that we have this Pinterest board, which will save you the time on searching when you want some burgers or fries.

Challenge:

  • Avoid any unhealthy fast food, and try to cook your meals with fresh vegetables.
  • Next time you go out and plan on drinking - make sure you have some sandwiches and fries waiting for you at home.
  • Feel like having a pizza on a Friday night? Making one at home from scratch is not that hard, and the easiest dough recipe is: 1 cup self raising flour & 1 cup of greek yogurt. Pizza-licious <3
